Anne Fontaine, Brunello Cuccinelli, Loro Piana, Ralph Lauren, and Hermes.

HOW DO YOU BALANCE SOPHISTICATION AND COMFORT IN YOUR DAILY LOOKS,
ESPECIALLY WITH SUCH A DYNAMIC CAREER?

As the saying goes, I’m very comfortable in my skin! Trends don’t influence me much because I prefer to stay true to who I am in everything I do, including my fashion choices.

WHAT’S ONE ACCESSORY OR PIECE OF CLOTHING YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?

Marlies Dekkers Lingerie!

DOES YOUR ARTISTIC BACKGROUND INFLUENCE HOW YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF THROUGH FASHION?

Although the objects may not perfectly mirror one another, when I look closely at the lines and shapes, I notice that the elements and colors in my fashion garments beautifully align with my artistic preferences.

WHAT FACTORS ATTRACTED YOU TO THE REAL ESTATE SECTOR, AND WHAT HAS SUSTAINED YOUR PASSION FOR IT THROUGHOUT THE YEARS?

My grandfather was a landowner and commercial real estate developer, which ignited my passion for this field. In real estate, I discovered that I excel in problem-solving. This profession gives me the opportunity to express my creativity in ways I had never previously contemplated.

HOW DO YOU NAVIGATE THE COMPETITIVE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA REAL ESTATE
MARKET?

First, it’s essential to recognize that no one can claim ownership of a client. Clients select their realtors based on their assessment of the realtor’s expertise and trustworthiness in providing guidance on inquiries and strategies designed to enhance their lifestyles and investments. Once all other factors have been carefully considered, interpersonal compatibility becomes a crucial element.

WHAT UNIQUE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES DOES THIS REGION OFFER COMPARED TO OTHERS?

Having spent time in Manhattan, New York, and Greenwich, Connecticut, I can see many wonderful similarities with Silicon Valley, making properties here truly special and sought-after. Since there are not many properties available, competition can be intense. People in this area aren’t just buying homes out of necessity; they choose spaces that beautifully express their personal preferences, dreams, and individuality, highlighting their uniqueness.

ARE THERE SPECIFIC TRENDS YOU’VE NOTICED RECENTLY IN THE BAY AREA REAL ESTATE MARKET?

With political turmoil subsiding and the Federal Reserve lowering mortgage rates, it’s genuinely exciting to see so many prospective buyers entering the market to make their purchases! At the same time, sellers feel more confident about listing their properties, and we’re noticing a steady improvement in both the stock and crypto markets. This is becoming more of a norm in the world. All these encouraging signs point to a brighter future, so I feel optimistic about a positive upward trend in the real estate market for 2025—it truly seems within reach!

HOW DO YOU APPROACH FINDING THE PERFECT HOME FOR A CLIENT WHILE BALANCING THEIR WISHLIST AND BUDGET?

In this context, it’s essential to understand the client thoroughly, including their family dynamics and lifestyle choices. By considering these factors, we can more effectively identify the perfect match for them. It’s crucial to remember that a realtor must have in-depth knowledge of the area they operate in.

WHAT’S THE MOST MEMORABLE PROPERTY YOU’VE SOLD, AND WHY?

A few years back, alongside my previous business partner, I effectively oversaw the sale of a property valued at over $100,000,000.

WHEN DID YOUR JOURNEY WITH ART AND JEWELRY DESIGN BEGIN?

Since childhood, I’ve had a deep passion for painting and design. At the age of 15, I modeled for a Norwegian company. This experience inspired me to apply to a top design institute in Europe. I chose Van Cleef & Arpels in Paris, where I gained valuable knowledge about jewelry metals and gemstones.

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR CREATIONS, AND HOW DO YOU TRANSLATE THOSE INSPIRATIONS INTO YOUR DESIGNS?

When there is no client engagement for a specific project, I prefer minimalist and geometric design shapes.

DO YOU SEE PARALLELS BETWEEN YOUR WORK AS A DESIGNER AND YOUR ROLE AS A REAL ESTATE BROKER?

Navigating and facilitating a real estate transaction involves innovative strategies, such as employing various techniques to achieve the best result for the client. This requires thinking beyond conventional methods, and I can leverage my creativity and industry expertise to ensure the optimal outcome.

ARE THERE SPECIFIC MATERIALS OR TECHNIQUES YOU LOVE WORKING WITH IN YOUR JEWELRY?

I focus on the design elements, suggesting colors and shapes rather than materials.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PIECE YOU’VE EVER DESIGNED, AND WHAT MADE IT SPECIAL?

This subject fascinates me! There’s a specific design that I truly admire, even though I probably wouldn’t wear it myself. I had a fantastic opportunity to create seven beautiful jewelry sets for a wedding party in Dubai. The groom asked for various colors to complement his bridal party, and he seemed very happy with all the pieces I made. Unfortunately, the final set wasn’t ready in time, so he chose another set of my design, which I ended up keeping. It holds a special charm for me!

HOW DOES LIVING IN THE BAY AREA SHAPE YOUR ARTISTIC VISION?

The Bay Area serves as my home.
Having lived in multiple international cities, including Tehran, Iran; New Delhi and Mumbai, India; Paris, France; London, England; Izmir; and Istanbul, Turkey, I profoundly appreciate diverse cultures. As a result, my thoughts frequently explore and expand as I engage in my artistic reflections.

HOW DO YOU BALANCE YOUR ROLES AS A REAL ESTATE BROKER, ARTIST, AND JEWELRY DESIGNER?

I view my real estate career not just as a job; it’s a source of joy from helping people reach their goals. Whether I’m assisting with buying, selling, transitioning between properties, exploring creative investment strategies, designing jewelry, or creating artwork to enhance someone’s decor, my priority is happiness and satisfaction. Moreover, engaging with people revitalizes me. The relationships I build with my clients are priceless.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

Well, coffee comes first! I love starting my mornings with the NY Times and WSJ. After that, I tackle emails, calls, or anything left on my desk from the previous day. I typically have one or two appointments each day and an event every night or two! I know it can be overwhelming, but that’s just who I am. That’s where I get my energy from—people! The goal is to bring people together, whether selling, buying, investing in real estate, or connecting investors with startups.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE LOOKING TO COMBINE CREATIVE PURSUITS WITH A DEMANDING CAREER?

After being in business for over 30 years, my number one advice is to stay true to yourself. 2) Recognize your passions, likes, or dislikes and follow those. 3) Education is key, no matter what field you’re in. I emphasize “education,” not necessarily “a degree!” Knowledge is the solid steps that take you up the ladder. 4) Be kind, considerate, and have humility.
