Where Fashion Meets Art: Best Dressed at the San Francisco Fall Show Gala 2024

On October 16, 2024, the San Francisco Fall Show celebrated its 42nd edition at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, enchanting attendees with its bold “Black & White” theme. This iconic art and design fair showcased a stunning array of art, antiques, and decorative pieces from 43 esteemed exhibitors around the globe. The event kicked off with a dazzling opening-night gala, reminiscent of Truman Capote’s legendary Black & White Ball, featuring a chic atmosphere filled with elegance and creativity.

Attendees mingled in a beautifully curated 50,000-square-foot space adorned with designer vignettes crafted by renowned designers such as Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Chloe Redmond Warner, Mark D. Sikes, and Ann Pyne & Elizabeth Pyne Singer of McMillen Inc. Each vignette utilized bespoke wall coverings from de Gournay, showcasing a harmonious blend of contemporary and antique pieces. Guests enjoyed craft cocktails and gourmet bites while engaging in a treasure hunt through the aisles of exquisite art and furniture.

Highlights included an impressive pair of 18th-century Venetian mirrors priced at $107,250 and contemporary works that quickly sold, such as an oil on canvas by Max Leuchars. The evening also supported the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, reinforcing the event’s commitment to the arts community.

As guests admired the art and made acquisitions, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement, culminating in a night filled with inspiration and innovation.

The gala’s fashion was nothing short of spectacular, with attendees showcasing their style in various interpretations of the black-and-white theme. Notable mentions for best dressed included:

WES GORDON, CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF CAROLINA HERRERA
